The Odd Couple | May 14 - May 31 | By Neil Simon

Neil Simon's classic comedy, "The Odd Couple" is one of Broadway's funniest. Tossed out of the house by his wife and close to packing it in, Felix Unger decides the best thing to do is move in with his best pal: barely housebroken, deliberately devolved caveman Oscar Madison. Within a few days, slovenly sportswriter Oscar and compulsive neatnik Felix are driving one another bonkers. The laughs are non-stop as these two mismatched buddies make a go of being roomies.

"The Odd Couple" is hilarious fun for one and all and will be the Devon Theater's first production of a play. Pull up your chair to the poker table, sit back, and prepare to laugh!

MAYFAIR BUSINESS ASSOCIATION TO HOST SECOND ANNUAL “MAY FAIR” AND FIRST ANNUAL FALLEN HEROES RUN

Festivities Kick-Off At 7:30AM at Ryan and Sackett Sts.

On Saturday May 16th, 2009

The Mayfair Business Association is excited to announce its Second annual “May Fair” festival along Frankford Ave and its First annual “Mayfair Fallen Heroes Run”. Association President Mike “Scoats” Scotese, owner of the Grey Lodge, is extremely happy with the success of this event and looks forward for many to come home to Mayfair and for our neighbors to celebrate our rich history and civic pride. Scotese said, “I am proud at how the neighborhood has rallied around this endeavor and am already excited to see the growth for next year. I want to thank the members of the Business association that have worked tirelessly to make this possible, they truly are the backbone of this community and without them we would have nothing to celebrate. I’d also like to thank the Mayfair CDC for their never ending commitment to this community and to the Mayfair Civic Association and our countless numbers of sponsors and finally to our men in Blue, in whose honor we launch the first annual Fallen Heroes Run.”

We will start by celebrating Mayfair via our Fallen Heroes Run and Walk. All proceeds from this race will go to the Heroes Thrill Show which benefits the education of the survivors of Police and Fire that were lost in the line of duty. This year our association will celebrate the life of our very own Officer Gary Skerski whose life was tragically cut short just three short years ago. He will be missed and we will make this year’s donation in his name and will honor his legacy with a plaque to his family. The race will kick-off at 8:30AM at Ryan and Sackett Sts where we will have a bagpiper and a vocalist before the many participants compete in our first ever 5K run which is organized by the Northeast Roadrunners.

The Second Annual May Fair will commence with the award presentation to the winners of the 5K followed by sidewalk sales, face paintings, fire engines, music, prizes, free giveaways, and a day long scavenger hunt with the opportunity to win Five Hundred ($500) Dollars in Mayfair shopping. Free parking along Frankford Avenue will be provided by the Philadelphia parking Authority from 10AM to 4PM.

These events are helping highlight an exciting year for Mayfair and are just another reason that Mayfair is a great place to live, work and play.
