The abbreviated quick and dirty version because it's Thursday (!!!) and I've been swamped with helping finalize the details of the Mayfair Holmesburg Thanksgiving Parade being held this SUNDAY, November 18, 2012 starting at noon. The Parade route will run from Rhawn St. to Knorr and is gearing up to be spectacular!! The theme is "Neighborhood Unity" since the parade route runs through 2 of the great neighborhoods (Holmesburg and Mayfair) of the Northeast and is attended by neighbors from the third great neighborhood (Tacony). This year we are honoring the presidents of the 3 civic associations; Mary Benussi of Tacony Civic Association, Joe DeFelice of Mayfair Civic Association and Rich Frizell of Holmesburg Civic Association.

Make sure you have the kids bring their letters for Santa! I'll be helping collect them along with all my fellow elves!

On Friday at the Grey Lodge is hosting it's annual "Mad Elf Night". this sounds like an invitation to me and all of the other elves in the parade to kick it up crazy style. Points if you come in full elf costume or even a Santa suit. There will be the pouring of two years of Mad Elf and there will be Mad Elf gear for sale. Also on tap will be Troegs Scratch 78 Fresh Hop and Troegs Dream Weaver Wheat. Scoats says "You can be naughty, but don’t be late." The Mad Elf, much like this week, goes fast.
