Meet Candidate Seth Williams Thursday Night

Seth Williams, Candidate for District Attorney, will be stopping by several Mayfair taverns Thursday, April 30th, to meet voters. If you'd like to met him, here is his agenda.

Cost: $225 per student, $200 for Devon Members
Includes: Camp tuition, t-shirt, registration for The Devon Theater Summer Program.

Junior Camp Grades K-2

Monday - Thursday
9 AM to 11:30 AM
Cost: $50 per student
Includes: Camp Tuition, t-shirt
(Junior campers are not eligible for The Devon Summer Community Theater Program.)

This dynamic theater training program offers an exciting summer learning environment for campers of all ages at Philadelphia's Devon Theater for the Performing Arts.

Camp registration and $100 deposit deadline is Thursday, April 30

Camp Devon is Dedicated to:
  • Introducing children and youth to the incomparable magic of theatre and the arts.
  • Developing student's creativity and imaginations, voices and bodies by providing interactive, engaging, and fun classes taught by arts professionals.
  • Fostering abilities and desires to think critically and objectively, work collaboratively, build self-confidence and discipline, in addition to a keen sense of citizenship alongside their artistic achievements.

*Senior Campers grades 3-8 must be registered and attend camp to be in the Devon Summer Community Theater Program. All Senior Campers are required to bring their own brown bag lunch and water bottle.

*If Junior Campers want to stay for lunch, they must bring their own brown bag lunch and water bottle.
*Early arrival offered at 8:30 AM allowed by pre-registration only at an additional cost of $50 per student. There are no set activities at that time, just supervision.

Acting 101
Saturday, May 16 (Grades 1-5)
Saturday, May 23 (Grades 6-12)

This workshop provides training in the fundamentals of acting. Starting with the basics, this class focuses on stage movement, stage directions, vocals, theater terminology and designing blocking for a scene. This workshop is incredibly fun and hands-on, perfect for beginners. No prior experience necessary!

Commercial Acting
Saturday, June 6 (Grades 1-6)

Have you ever thought about being in a commercial? Learn the basics of being a commercial actor and go home with the confidence and knowledge to put you on the path to commercial success! This workshop will focus on preparing the beginning through advanced actor for the television and internet commercial market by developing the inner characters of the actor. A very fun "on camera" workshop that includes improv games, facial and vocal exercises, memorization techniques, product use, audition techniques, character development, and understanding of the copy/script! If you ever wanted to be in a commercial, this is the class for you!

Improv(e) Your Life!
Saturday, June 13 (Grades 1-5)

This workshop focuses on improv as an art form as well as a way to improve your life! Improvisational theater, dance, and music have a great way of freeing you. Don't think. Just do! This class will give you a chance to find your funny side, your flexible side, and build up your confidence. You will learn to make quick decisions, to think on your feet, and best of all, to be brave! No prior theater, dance, or music experience is required!

2nd Annual Mayfair Mayfair

The Mayfair Business Association is proud to announce the 2nd annual Mayfair May Fair, which will be on Saturday May 16th.

It will be begin with the 1st Annual Fallen Heroes Run and Walk to benefit the families of police and firefighters who have died in the line of duty. Please click on the link to find out more.

After run, we will have our 2nd Annual scavenger hunt, which will take place in businesses along Frankford Avenue.

Later that night, several Mayfair bars and restaurants will have some interesting things going on. More details soon!
